"Lady by the lounge"
Charcoal and pastel on paper
Lady by the lounge,
June 2012. By Alicia Williams
"Lady by the Lounge" was inspired by a series of
life drawing sketches created during the Cleveland Buzz event in June 2012.
Warm, earthy tones were used to replicate the atmosphere on the day of the event,
as well as to emphasise an aura of mystery. Pastel, Charcoal and Acrylic Paint
were used to create texture and tone, to enhance the models stance and her
unusual surroundings. The lady's face is expressionless apart from her
enigmatic smile, which gives no secrets away. Possibly a modern day Mona Lisa,
the lady by the lounge is a woman who emits grace and beauty.
